The following locations are for alternative items that are not accepted "at the curb" and/or can be accepted year-round when the municipal hazardous waste depot is closed. Please refer to the date that these places are added as sometimes these locations can be temporary.
Staples (345 Great Northern Road): Updated July 10, 2023; accepts cell phones, pens and markers, toner cartridges, ink cartridges, batteries and beverage containers.
BioPed (51 Great Northern Road): Updated August 16, 2023; accepts new or gently used footwear.
Friends of the Library Bookstore (50 East Street); Updated August 18, 2023; accepts new and used books, CDs, magazines, DVDs and similar material.
ReStore (32 White Oak Drive); Updated August 28, 2023; accepts small batteries of all types in their retail location. At its loading dock on White Oak Drive, it accepts all types of metal for recycling. The funds are used toward Habitat For Humanity housing projects.
Home Depot (530 Great Northern Road); Updated Sept. 8, 2023; accepts small batteries of all types at the entrance.
